Home security systems

When it comes to our new house, one of the important things that husband and I are discussing about is having wireless security systems installed. We want to protect our home from break-ins because of the fact that we are new in the area where everybody is stranger to us. Though we heard good feedback about the place but we still can't guarantee the safety specially this tough times.

Husband and I talked about different options, the inexpensive wireless system should be okay. He says placing a security system stickers or "beware of dog" signs will also make the invaders to think twice about breaking the home. Does it really work?
